- Set-up Initial Consultation
Initial Consultation
- Understand Your Needs: Meet with you to discuss requirements, such as the type of cover (e.g., storage, travel, mooring, equiptment), or Top (Bimini, dodger, sunshade), preferred materials, color options, and budget.
- Boat Assessment: Inspect the boat to understand its unique features, contours, and any challenges (e.g., rails, cleats, or antennas that might require cutouts).
- Material Recommendation: Suggest marine-grade materials such as Sunbrella, Stamoid, or vinyl, explaining their durability, UV resistance, and waterproofing properties.
- Timeline and Pricing: Provide an estimated timeline for completion and a quote based on materials and labor.
Your Approval
- Customer Approval: Share the design and material choices with you for approval before proceeding. 10% due to secure order.
Measurement and Pattern Creation
- On-Site Measurement and Patterning: Visit the boat to create a physical template using patterning material or canvas.
Prep, Sewing, and Assembly
- These steps takes place in my shop. Ordering of materials, Layout and fabrication, 25% due upon recieving materials.
Test Fitting
- Trial Installation: Place the partially completed cover on the boat to check the fit and alignment.
- Adjustments: Make any necessary modifications to seams, fastener locations, or contours for a snug and tailored fit.
Final Touches
- Inspection: Inspect the cover thoroughly for quality, ensuring all seams, fasteners, and reinforcements meet high standards.
Installation and Customer Walkthrough
- Install Fasteners: Ensure proper alignment with the boat.
- Install and Demonstrate: Show you how to install and remove the cover properly. Point out any special features like reinforcements or venting.
- Care Instructions: Provide guidance on cleaning, storing, and maintaining the cover to maximize its lifespan.
- Feedback and Final Payment: Confirm your satisfaction and address any final concerns before collecting payment.
